Cloudy BayPinot Noir
About this product
Fruit for this wine comes from the cool clay soils and rolling, north-facing slopes of Marlborough’s Southern Valleys region. The gravel and clay subsoils balance drainage and water availability to yield the region's best Pinot Noir grapes. This is a benchmark Marlborough wine, proof that its climate and clay soils make it much more than a one-grape region.

Pinot Noir was once a weak link in the Cloudy Bay chain. No longer. I wouldn't expect too many complaints if you served this. It's not in any way overdone, and yet it ticks all the right boxes. Fistfuls of spice, dried herbs, perfumed plum and sweet blueberries. Excellent mix of sdavouriness, spicines and sweetness, so that no one element dominates. Robust, muscular tannin. A dry finish and aftertaste. I'd expect this to improve over the next few years.
