Vintage 2012
95 points Halliday Wine Companion
Includes 10% shiraz, both varieties estate-grown and matured in new and used French barriques. A full-bodied cabernet speaking loudly of its place (and variety); blackcurrant fruit is offset by bay leaf/dried herbs, firm tannins and cedary French oak.

Vintage 2008
92 points Halliday Wine Companion
I tasted this alongside the inaugural 1977 Taltarni cabernet. The 1977 was tannic and very old, but still quite lovely. I suspect that this 2008 version will cellar for a very long time too. Tannin is back in town at Taltarni. This is the most tannic Taltarni cabernet I've tasted in a long time. It tastes of iodine and chocolate, blackcurrant and eucalypt. It has swish cedary oak too but there's nothing soft or plump about this; it's ripe but rigid and forceful. It's all about length and structure. Needs a long sleep.
