Very interesting. It’s floral and spicy, but also has baked plum and port jelly character. Tannin is silty and firm, flavour leans towards meat and prune, but still there’s perfume and some stewed strawberry and spice. A little subdued, in a way, and somewhat earthy, though there’s some freshness and fragrance to its pretty long and dusty spicy finish, and something of an ironstone or ‘mineral’ feel. Sits outside the current mainstream style of McLaren Vale Grenache; a bit of an individual. Quite like it.

Intense aromas or raspberries and red plums with some gentle lift. Pudding spices and baked berries on offer, too. The palate has a cedary edge with a firm-ish tannin frame and a core of ripe plum and berry flavors. Drink now.
