Gary Walsh
The reviewer with levity and a light heart
Gary Walsh co-founded The Wine Front with Campbell Mattinson in 2002 as an online paid membership "all-things-wine" magazine, and describes himself as a great guy. He also writes about wine occasionally (read, every day).
He's a born communicator with personality and more than a couple of decades practical wine experience; expect easy wit combined with the technical chops to back it up and a fierce defence of the screw-cap directed at anyone who mentions the phrase within earshot.
His conversational style of wine reviewing is disarming and approachable, and he co-authored "The Big Red Wine Book" in all his spare time between tasting as much of the world's wine as possible, running a website, and producing content for just about every wine reviewing magazine you could care to name. Workaholic? Perhaps. But it's not a bad job if you can get it.
Gary Walsh writes and reviews for The Wine Front and other esteemed publications.
