Good colour for its age, showing no loss of the crimson edge; has very good varietal fruit thanks in part to the Corryton Park estate vineyards in the coolest part of the Barossa Valley that provided 80% of the wine before it spent 21 months in 75% new French oak; blackcurrant fruit is married with typical cabernet tannins, adding length to a high quality wine.

..Gum leaf, mint, menthol, coffee and nougat oak, dark berries. It’s medium to full bodied with a good volume of sweet red and black fruit and plenty of oak to match. Attractive fine grained tannin and fairly soft structure – acid pings a little on the finish. Some rum and raisin characters are there too, though they’re not distracting. A pleasant wine.
