Cooler, wetter years are often not so much of a problem for Vat 47. This has fine bones, but also has flavour to go with it. Green melon, lemon and lime, slight herbal perfume, gentle vanilla nougat and cedar spice oak. Medium bodied, light chalky texture, lovely well settled acidity, almost a delicacy to it, then a tight and very long citrus and Thai basil infused finish. There’s so much to like about this wine. Closure : Screwcap. Drink : 2016 - 2025+

Candle wax—gently smoky—lemon and cream to sniff. The palate is lean and taut, crisp and almost nervy, while there's intense flavour that persists. Very good and has years left in it.
