The colour is still diffuse, possibly shaken by transport shortly prior to tasting; the cool vintage accentuates the Bordeaux make-up; this is a wine to challenge rather than soothe you, but is certainly as varietally correct as possible.

Good colour for age. Peppermint nose; clean and mellowing, not simple but layered, but peppermint is the dominant note. Nice wine: sweet berry and peppermint flavours, a very Aussie big red, with smooth mellowing tannins. A very pleasant drink, but not really complex.
