Mixed berries and blackcurrant, tobacco and mint with coffee nougat oak riding high. It's medium weight, with a drily tannic presence - the shape and structure of it is, you'd have to say, excellent. Has a lithe, yet masculine appeal. A good release from Katnook. Should cellar well. Tasted December 11.

Unconvincing colour; the oak contribution from 18 months in 35% new French oak is very obvious, but there is enough cassis/blackcurrant/earth fruit, plus good tannins to ultimately provide balance.
