A very great Hunter semillon, to be re-released in May 2018 at $175 to commemorate the 160th anniversary of Tyrrell's Wines. The wine is still very fresh and yet has acquired all the wonderful toasty and beeswaxy complexities of a mature semillon. The palate is intense and long, pure and refreshing as well as multi-layered, with impeccable line. A benchmark wine. (57 gold medals, 33 trophies)

This is a wine that must be experienced to be believed. Ageing at the pace of a giant sea turtle, it’s still a vibrant straw-green at almost seven years of age. The freshness on the palate follows unerringly, singing with kaffir lime and lemon, pepper, cut grass and anise. With scintillating acidity, brilliant citrus cut, sensational line, incredible persistence and chalky minerality, this is one of the great Vat 1s of all time.
