From three sites suited to the three components, with the grenache from Blewitt Springs. Basket pressed to 2-to-3-year-old French puncheons for 12 months elevage. This hits the target for a juicier Vale take on a bistro-style Cotes du Rhone. The grenache ripples with red fruits, raspberry, cherry, cranberry. There’s a bit more meat from the shiraz and Mourvedre, along with the latter’s more rugged, savoury tones, and the freshness is admirable. Delicious, fulsome everyday drinking.

Deepish red-purple colour with smoked meat and and slightly animal aromas, the palate full bodied and stacked with firm tannins. A solid wine with some oak & lashings of tannins. A solid, gusty wine with plenty of potential.
