Deep, bright red/purple colour and a fresh, clean, bright fruit-driven aroma. A traces of parsnip and root vegetable stemminess. Raw potato. The palate is a little lean and the acidity a little fresh, but it’s appetising and elegantly structured. Chinotto. A barrel selection of the best wine resulted in 200 dozen bottles. It is superior to its sibling, but still has a taste profile that is less than ideal. These comments, and those relating to the other wine, are perhaps in the glass half empty approach, not the glass half full. Nonetheless, maturation in bottle won't conceal the taste issues.
