Dry, Medium Bodied style of Cabernet MalbecGreat Southern Cabernet Malbec in honour of Charles William Ferguson, early Houghton winemaker. The CW Ferguson is vibrant red Or purple with a garnet hue. Brooding and complex, with bright fruit characters of mulberry, plum, blackberry and cassis combined with cedar, spice, dark chocolate and hints of vanillin derived from the classy oak maturation. A wonderfully rich and complex wine. The full flavoured palate displays complex bramble fruit, dark chocolate and an imposing presence. A firm, but fine tannin structure supports a wine of great length and density. All at once rich, complex and perfectly balanced ensuring a long future with years ahead of it. Cellar for 10 years and beyond.

Medium bodied red wines have a lightly textured mouthfeel with moderate flavour impact. Often medium in colour.
Dry wines have no trace of sweetness at all.

Deep red/purple colour. A bright blackberry aroma, with fruit leading, cabernet character paramount. The palate is lively and sinuous, quite concentrated, the palate line slightly uneven, the tannins measured and reasonably well balanced, adding a touch of firmness at the end. Some alcohol afterglow lingers.
