It opened oaky but no such problems the next day – rich dark fruit, some mint, licorice, toasty oak and spices are the smells and flavours. It’s just over medium bodied with explosive fruit flavour and reach through the palate – the tannins and structure of it magic – long and nutty on the finish. Splendid wine, not hot or too sweet – expressive, perfumed and sophisticated.
