The vineyard’s soils are made up of a mix of clay and limestone. They are considerably rockier and stonier than soils in the vineyards to the south, making for good drainage and low fertility which is beneficial for high-quality viticulture.

Deepish red colour with a strong tint of purple and a reserved bouquet featuring smoky-toasty barrel oak, freshly-turned earth, the palate intense, fleshy and smooth, rich and densely woven texturally, at the same time as it’s very dry and savoury, the finish long and harmonious. A solid, concentrated, earthbound, not-overtly-pinoid style of Burgundy, and ageworthy.
