Situated in Australia's Yarra Valley, Oakridge has been producing quality wine since 1978. Simply named from our address at Coldstream, the 864 range is a showcase of highly detailed micro-selections from the most exceptional single vineyard sites in the Yarra Valley. All grapes are hand harvested and sorted prior gently destemming to fermenter. This wine spends 15 months in French oak barrels maturing before blending and bottling.
An intensely fragrant nose of dark cherry, plum, blackcurrant with violet florals are complemented by notes of anise spice, cedar and oak toast.
The palate is refined and medium bodied, fresh and bright, with concentrated dark fruit and silky yet supportive tannins. Flavours of cassis and black plum are complemented with an element of spice complexity and fine line of acidity driving the finish.
