From fine fiano to White Claw, Lara’s back with the low-down on the drinks to pick up while the price is right.

Each month, she scours the list of 300+ My Dan’s Member Offers to find her favourite deals – the bottles you’ll definitely want to grab while the price is right. Hot damn, life is expensive right now. With cozzie livs giving me a mild menty b, I don’t even have time to write words in full anymore. But I’m a My Dan’s member (obvi) so when it comes to stocking my fridge and bar cart, I’m paying careful attention to those My Dan’s Member Offers.

As usual, this month’s offering is as full as a centipede’s sock drawer with the goods, but here you’ll find the five picks that earned themselves an immediate ‘add to cart’. From old faithfuls to new fancies, here are my picks of the best My Dan’s Member Offers right now. Offers end on the 25th of October, so get in while the getting’s good.

1. Brookie’s Byron Slow Gin

I’m a long-time fan of Brookie’s – their commitment to sustainability is second to none and every bottle they produce is a surefire winner – but seeing the Slow Gin on the list gave me happy goosebumps. It’s an Aussie spin on a traditional English sloe gin, swapping out sloe berries for Davidson plum, a rainforest fruit native to Australia. They steep the plums in their dry gin for several months and the result is all kinds of delicious. Fruity and lightly sweet, try it in a sour, spritz or straight up and thank me later.

2. Feudi di Gregorio Fiano di Avellino

As one of the suckers who didn’t go to Italy this year (is it just me whose whole feed was other people’s pasta porn?), I've taken to enjoying fine Italian wines at home as a consolation prize. This Fiano di Avellino is a sassy little number – bone dry with solid minerality and lots of tasty apple, pear and lemon flavours. Buy it now and save it for a gorgeous sunny arvo with pals who’ll pay it some attention and appreciate how yum it is.

3. Luxardo Maraschino Originale

According to polling I just made up to strengthen my argument, it’s a known fact that 92% of people prefer cocktails that use maraschino liqueur. While that might be a lie, here’s something that’s not: a LOT of cocktails need this cherry-based ingredient, and many of those are extremely delicious – the Last Word, Red Hook, Fireball Smash or Brandy Crusta are perfect examples. So, it’s worth keeping a bottle of Luxardo Maraschino Originale in your cart ready to go, and especially worthwhile at this price.

4. White Claw Refrshr Limón with Calamansi

Filipino flavours have taken over and I, for one, am delighted. Never ones to be left behind, White Claw have jumped on the trend with their latest Refrshr range, this one highlighting limón (AKA lemon) alongside calamansi – a sweet-sour citrus fruit that’s a staple in Filipino and South-East Asian cooking, with a flavour landing somewhere between lime and mandarin. If you love a high-low pairing, there’s nothing like a canned RTD with sophisticated flavours to do the trick.

5. Garage Project Tiny Non-Alcoholic Anytime XPA

Is there room in my heart for yet another excellent zero% beer? There sure as hell is, and this Tiny Anytime XPA, with no more than 0.5% alcohol, slots right in. Kiwi brewers Garage Project make some tasty liquid gold as it is, but this non-alc version is welcome to take up fridge space at my house anytime. When it comes to zero% beers, I find going for something hoppy, fruity and bold helps give it that weight and flavour of regular beer – things this tiny can packs in spades.
