Head Wines'Head Red' Shiraz Barossa 2017
About this product
‘HEAD RED’ Shiraz is a blend across multiple Barossa vineyards allowing a snapshot of the overall vintage quality. It also contains de-classified barrels from some of the best vineyards in the portfolio.
Ultimately in search of balance, length & complexity, it’s a chance for me to play with the old adage, “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” ‘Head Red’ Shiraz is the best value, most approachable and classically Barossan Shiraz I can produce each year. Alex Head

Medium bodied red wines have a lightly textured mouthfeel with moderate flavour impact. Often medium in colour.
Dry wines have no trace of sweetness at all.

"Very little sunshine, and a lot of cloud cover in vintage 2017. The style is cooler and atypical of the Barossa Valley, to a large extent. Scrub herb, red and black fruit, plenty of meat, pepper and spice. Medium-bodied, spicy coolness, grainy open knit tannin, sage and wet earth.... A different face of the Barossa." Drink 2019-2024+.
