Ranked 3rd of Tasmanian Pinot Gris 2018 Light yellow colour. Dry straw and spicy, almost lychee-like bouquet, a note of beach sand, very appealing. It has character and charm. The wine has richness and depth of flavour that is unusual in this class. Very good. Balanced and long with a clean dry follow-through

Curly Haslam-Coates (The Wine Front) - Pinot Gris, Pinot Gris, what are you going to be bringing me? Are you skinsy, clean or oily as can be? I like the versatility of Pinot Gris. I’m a sucker for an Alsatian Pinot Gris, all fat and oily and hiding it’s 15% really well but sometimes it’s time to reel it in a bit to make it more food-friendly and the Jimmy’s Hill sits in the not too oily but definitely weighty enough to go with a range of food. Crisp pears, ripe apples, nashi pears and a stony minerality like river pebbles on the nose. Peachy keen, buttery and juicy, this is a cheeky, easy drinking treat.
