The viognier is a 5% splash and it makes its presence felt from the wonderful rich hue to the floral aromas distinctly violet and lavender. The palate is full-bodied without question, a morass of plums, dark molten chocolate, blackstrap licorice and cedary oak; the savoury, decisive tannins and sparky acidity ensuring this should last some distance.

Deep, youthful purple/red colour and blackberry, meaty, earthy and cedary aromas with hints of pencil shavings. The wine is big on ripe fruit and is very plummy in the mouth, with soft, fine tannins and a twist of the pepper grinder on the finish. A wine of serious intensity and depth, as well as structure.
