Vintage 2014 - New art each year on the bottle, and in the bottle. Boysenberries, clod earth below, perfume above, spice box, and gentle pencilly oak. Medium bodied, fresher this vintage, almost perky with acidity, firm well-knit tannin binds the juicy, almost malt and cherry-like fruit flavour, then crisp and fresh on the long finish. Distinctive wine. A lighter shade of Barossa."

Fermented and matured in new and used French oak. Andrew Caillard's team has made an art of mataro as well as the labels on the Caillard releases. This is a wine as much about texture as it is about flavour, each acting in synergistic support of the other, wild herbs linking with sour cherry and spice.
