Domaine de ChatillonGamay Savoie 2020
About this product
The Domaine de Chatillon vineyard is located in one of the most exciting wine regions in France on the banks of the Lake de Bourget, the country's largest freshwater lake. It has an uniquely Australian connection being owned by Ed Peter who is the proprietor of Yarra Yering in the Yarra Valley. The Gamay vines are more than 60 years old and are key in the production of this deeply intense purple wine with the bouquet of irises, violets, cranberry and dark cherries. On the palate you will find flavours of rasberry and boysenberry with gentle tannins and subtle wood spices.

Vintage 2020
90 points Wine front
Red & purple fruit , an alpine herb coolness , new leather & a kind of steely character , maybe ozone or something like that , and a sappy ripe tomato edge. Its medium bodied , silty tannin , a little sweet & sour , but full of energy , with cool and tangy finish of solid length . Brisk , good flavour – Raspberries and herbs. Heaps of character, I like it.
