MoricBurgenland Blaufrankisch 2019
About this product
Roland Velich, winemaker extraordinaire behind the Moric project, appreciates the long forgotten great sites in the southern stretches of the Burgenland region - especially those planted with Blaufrankisch over 100 years ago. Made with techniques seen more in Burgundy than Austria, this project is responsible for some of the most exciting red wine in Austria today. Bright and crunchy - red berry compote and cranberry flavours abound, but with a serious savoury edge of graphite and minerality.

Vintage 2019
93 points James Suckling
Brimming with blue and black berries, plus a slew of spices and dried flowers, making this hard to resist. So bright and vibrant on the palate, in spite of the excellent ripeness. Healthy, fine tannins, crisp acidity and mineral-herbal freshness on the palate. Drink or hold. 93 points. Stuart Piggot, jamessuckling.com
