ShadowfaxMacedon Magic 6 Pack By Shadowfax
About this product
Shadowfax is leading the way from vines to the wines, setting the benchmark for what mainland Australia's chilliest climate can produce. Poise, elegance and freshness are what make the Macedon Ranges arguably Australia's 'coolest' region at the moment. This pack will show those qualities in spades. This pack includes two of each of the following wines.
2020 Shadowfax Little Hampton Pinot Gris
Fifth release from Shadowfax's pride and joy, Little Hampton Vineyard. At 700m above sea level, it's one of coolest vineyards in Macedon. Hand harvested fruit was firmly whole bunch pressed followed by natural ferment in older French barrels. Lifted musk and floral notes accompany ripe apricot and pear. It has a rich, textural mouthfeel and glides silk-like across the palate. Even at this ripeness, there's no sense of heaviness. Nuttiness and intense orchard fruits aplenty, with a nice ginger zing at the end.
2018 Shadowfax Macedon Chardonnay
White nectarine and grapefruits spill immediately onto the palate. These fruit flavours are augmented with wild ferment characters such as slivered almond and choux pastry. The wine shows generosity with hints of lemon curd and spice. Some alcohol warmth is framed by natural grapefruit pith and toasted barrel complexity. The flowing palate is long and intense yet continually develops through your first, second and third glass. A great example of cold-climate Macedon ranges Chardonnay. Enjoy.
2019 Shadowfax Macedon Pinot Noir
The wine is deep purple with a deep crimson hue. This elegant Macedon ranges Pinot Noir has fine spice aromas including cardamom, cinnamon, five spice and citrus blossom. Darker blood plums, mulberries and florals evolve in the glass, as do sarsaparilla complexities and flecks of mineral earth. The wine has intrigue and flair in the glass, evolving through time.

Shadowfax Chardonnay: A bobbie dazzler of a wine. Excellent intensity and mouthfeel, good length, complex without getting all uppity about it. Straw-coloured, peach-driven, toasty, sparked with mineral. Celebratory chardonnay.

Shadowfax Pinot Noir: Dark red colour with brighter edges. A complex bouquet with loads of moving parts: cherries, mocha, oak-toast, fruit and spice. It's young and deeply-cored, time in the glass allows it to unfurl. Needs time to show its best. Serious value.
