Like the vintage version, has a real streak of elegance; sweet and immensely complex, yet no unwelcome bite on the finish; dry and long.

Deepish brick-red/tawny with a yellow-brown rim. The bouquet is very complex and shows a lot of rancio, spirit and oak, while the palate is intense and deep, layered and complex, with lots of burnished wood, walnut and dried fruit characters. There's a little hotness and astringency on the back-palate but the depth of character is really excellent.
