Dry, Full Bodied style of ShirazPenfolds Grange is the pre-eminent Australian red wine of the highest quality. Deep purple. Very elemental blackberry-raspberry-menthol aromas and sweet malt-savoury oak. A strikingly rich concentrated wine with deep-set musky blackberry dark chocolate fruit flavours, underlying savoury oak and ripe smooth tannins.

Good colour. Liqueur cherry, plum aniseed nose, classic '01 characters. Big and rich, superripe and sweet/rich kirsch flavoured. A bit too sweet and almost confected. Borderline porty. Not classic Grange.
