Brooding, warm, intense and brandied, with a thick cake of blackberried flavour, firm fine tannins, a muscular sense of tarry, fruity length and the kind of poise and pull that cabernet sauvignon is so particularly good at. While there is sweet-ish oak here, it’s largely been gobbled up – really, in the tub-thumbing style, this is an outstanding wine.
