Single vineyard wine planted in 1920s. This is one of Australia's iconic reds. The shiraz was hand picked in mid April and matured in new and seasoned American and French oak hogsheads for eighteen months. Mount Edelstone has achieved a formidable reputation since it was first released in 1952.

Full bodied red wines have a noticeably textural mouthfeel with bold, complex flavours. Often deeply coloured.
Dry wines have no trace of sweetness at all.

Crimson/purple. Rich, ripe, plum and Christmas cake aromas with some smoky vanillin oak. Palate is rich and textured, with ripe, plummy fruit and smoky vanillin oak, fine, slightly leafy tannins and a firm finish.
