...bloody and meaty and full of dark chocolate and blackcurrant – all that brett makes it smell just like a good Bordeaux! (only richer). Full in the mouth with gamey dark chocolate, orange rind, black olive and black fruit (and curranty too as Mattinson likes to say) flavours and grainy open weave tannins, firm but softening with age, providing a smooth texture. There’s a touch of warmth too, but it’s all there to enjoy I think.

Medium red-purple; an extremely complex bouquet with black fruits woven through more savoury/earthy/gamey characters; the powerful, masculine and sinewy palate is full of dark brooding fruits and tannins.
