Beautifully concentrated grapefruit, white peach, apricot flavours, fine supple bittersweet textures and fresh pure quartz acidity. Very pure and textural yet has power and superb mineral length. The 2022 Yattarna Chardonnay is another masterpiece from the team at Penfolds, showcasing fresh citric and grapefruit notes intertwined with yellow fruits like peach and nectarine, all underscored by a refined flinty minerality. Complex and layered on the palate, it achieves perfect balance among fruit, oak and acid. This wine seems to float with excellent drive and great length—arguably the highlight of the release. A medley of peach, apricot, buttery tones, cheese, and honey. The palate is refined and elegant, with flavors of stone fruit, citrus, jasmine, acacia, and subtle vanilla. Approachable now, yet promising to evolve beautifully with cellaring, culminating in a long finish with lively acidity and a mouthwatering texture. Pair with seared scallops or creamy lobster risotto for a sublime dining experience.
