Deep crimson. Attractive blackberry dark chocolate, mocha aromas with touches of dried roses and star aniseed. A beautifully balanced wine with deep set blackberry dark cherry fruits, lovely fine chocolaty textures, superb mid-plate volume and underlying mocha/ espresso notes. Concentrated, vigorous and flowing with superb fruit complexity, density and mineral length. Plenty of Baby Grange fat. A magnificent Bin 389 with a long cellaring career ahead. The palate is equally compelling, featuring plums, blackberry, rhubarb, grippy tannins, char, vanilla, and mocha, all interwoven with prune and a touch of balsamic. This medium-weighted wine balances fruit sweetness with savory reduction, leading to a cherry-driven, savory finish. Patience will reward those who cellar it. No surprise here considering the 'Baby Grange', as some call it is the most cellared wine in Australia. Pair with a grilled ribeye steak or aged cheddar for a delectable match.
