About this product

Some wines are made. This one was earned. Hugh and Mary Hamilton crafted more than 400 barrels to bring Pure Black into the world - all but five were rejected. Not a single bottle released until the vintage was truly exceptional. "It can be as simple as assembling your very best barrels," reflects Mary Hamilton, sixth-generation winemaker and the latest in a Hamilton legacy stretching back to the first vines planted in South Australia. "Which is just what we have done." Blood and iron yield to dark rose florals, cold black tea, and wet clay. Black olives, roasted coffee, and tar give way to ripe plums, pomegranate molasses, mudcake, and cherry pie - all packed into a sweet leather tobacco pouch of a finish. Thunderously rolling, dense, intense, and built to reward the cellar. Vegan friendly.
