Segura Viudas' (pronounced she-GUR-a vi-YOU-das) winery and vineyards lie in the heart of the Penedes wine region in Torrelavit, just outside of Barcelona, and is one of the most recognised names when it comes to Cava. Some of the buildings that house the winery date back to the 11th century, having served multiple purposes from military watch towers to a flour mill. The house style here is of freshness, with a focus on indigenous Spanish grape varieties, supported by smaller percentages of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir for elegance and complexity.  A blend of traditional Cava varieties (Macabeo, Xarello, Parellada), supported by Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Pale yellow-green in appearance, with fresh fruited aromas of pear, apple, pineapple, grapefruit, and nuts. Fresh and inviting on the palate with a tasteful balance between sweetness and acidity, and fruity notes of citrus and orchard fruits on the finish.
