Vintage 2015

Pouring this one into the glass, my first thought was “Woah, look
at that colour” which was swiftly backed up by “Woah, that nose is
intense.” 2021 has clearly turned me into early Bill & Ted era Keanu
Reeves.
An electric pink with a rich and toasty nose of buttery shortbread,
pomegranates, strawberries, raspberries, vanilla custard and a hint
of sweet spice. This leaps out of the glass on first taste with racing
bubbles fizzing along the tongue and crisp acidity that zaps the
saliva ducts and freshens the mouth that is suddenly full of flavours.
Soft, plump red fruits sit with an underlying earthiness and a gently
smokey, toasty tone.
Refined, elegant and extremely well made, the fruit is sourced
from their Colleen’s Paddock Vineyard in the Yarra Valley. 100%
Pinot Noir, whole bunch and sorted before pressing and then
fermenting in a mixture of 1000 litre French oak foudre and 228
litre Burgundy barrels. The wine then spends 9 months on its lees
in barrel, a further 17 months in stainless steel and then 3 and a half
years in bottle pre-disgorgement. A wine as visually stunning as
it is delicious, the artwork for this vintage release was created by
Australian illustrator Alexandra Nea.
