Medium to full red-purple; the bouquet leads with blackberry and cassis, with lesser notes of spice and cedar. The wine then shifts more into blackberry and bitter chocolate flavours on the long palate, sustained by lingering tannins. More elegant than the Bin 389, but will also be very long lived.

Deep red, slight purple. Rich nose; ripe, warm-year bouquet: meaty and berried. Rich ripe flavours too: deep and fleshy, concentrated and tannic, mouthcoating: a sumptuous wine. Very good. Dense rich, fleshy, sweet fruit and lively acid; very driving palate and firm grippy aftertaste. Long term. Now to 12+ years.
