Light to medium straw colour. A pencil-shavings aroma gives way to lemon juice and very subtle bready yeast autolysis. The palate started out soft and round, dry and savoury in flavour, initially tight and slightly pinched, with a tapered finish. After time in the glass the wine seemed to soften and enrich, the palate filling out to a balanced and soft yet still delicate and restrained display. In the final analysis, very good but not as richly bready and Champagne-like as some earlier vintages.

77/23% pinot noir/chardonnay. Taste the complexity that comes with 6 years on lees, it's thrilling. Citrus and stone-fruit aromas mix with yeasty brioche, roasted nuts, lemon butter and shortbread. The palate is superbly textured with fine acid crunch and a mouth-watering lemon pithiness.
