This comes from a number of vineyards in the Great Southern. It' always an impressive example of the regional style and this one from 2018 is a cracker. Smoothly textured and harmoniously integrated. The tannins and fine and slightly chalky while the oak plays its supporting role to perfection. It's a powerful wine though subtle and elegant, with potential for an extended time in the cellar.

Deep red/purple colour, with a vegetal aroma that suggests a cooler-climate and perhaps some whole-bunch ferment, essency blackberries as well, the palate lusciously fruited, sweet at the heart and layered with soft and fleshy tannins through to the finish. The wine is velvet-smooth and nicely balanced, with medium-length and just enough tannin to dry the finish.
