Vintage 2011
91 points The Wine Front
The herbal lilt is evident in perfume, somewhere between the varieties’ spectrums and perhaps something leafier and greener from the 2011 vintage. That being said, not altogether untoward, an ‘Aussie bush character’ that seeps between the richer perfume of dark berries and sweet violet floral aromas. It’s even and juicy to taste, long in flavour with fine ropes of sandy tannin giving some tension to the sluice of hollow but punchy dark fruit flavour in the wine. Touch of choc-mocha coupled to the crisp leafiness that says minty and eucalyptus, but not over the top and distracting. There’s a shallowness to the wine, but it does show good length and a fine balance for the slighter frame. The pucker that finishes the wine a neat full stop, and whips the palate clean. Pretty smart.

Distinguished Cabernet. Bring it on! By Gaia standards, it''s plump and plush with sweet fruit, rich dark chocolate and tannin presence.
