...everything one could hope for from this great label: blackberry and plum fruit, great tannins, very good oak and superb line, length and balance.

Medium to full red colour with a tinge of brick-red; it looks forward-developed. The bouquet is smoky, earthy and savoury in that coaldusty Hunter style. The palate is very savoury, earthy and sooty, complex and structured and demanding to be cellared. There are cherry and plum flavours buried deep in the palate. The firm astringency says go away and leave me alone for at least five years. This is seriously good and will reward the patient.
