Deep red/purple colour, bright and youthful. It smells bold and essency, very ripe but also has some aromas tilting towards peppery, while the palate is robust, full-bodied and quite firm in its tannin grip. There's an overtone of cough mixture; graphite on the finish. Quite big and robust, powerful and dense, with thick, mouth-coating tannins. It promises to reward cellaring.

From vines believed to be 145yo, wild-fermented, matured for 8 months in oak, 20% new French. Excellent colour; this is arguably the most perfect of the three Ancestor Vine wines. The texture is akin to celestial honey, flowing much more quickly yet caressing as it journeys through the mouth, the flavours of purple fruits and flowers, yet constantly changing.
