The latest installment is the superb Cabernet Sauvignon from Courtney Treacher, chief winemaker at Brookland Valley, one of the Margaret River''s pre-eminent wineries. It marries bright-red fruit flavours of raspberry, plum and strawberry with chocolate and cinnamon spice, all balanced by fine tannins to ensure a long finish.

Full bodied red wines have a noticeably textural mouthfeel with bold, complex flavours. Often deeply coloured.
Dry wines have no trace of sweetness at all.

Every now and then, a wine of fantastic quality silences the whole room! Courtney Treacher is behind the great Houghton super premiums that dominate the WA landscape of flagship releases, and this wine underlines that point superbly! There's a plunging depth of saturated cassis, dried plum, seamless fluency and bay leaf. The formidable cedar oak is high quality, providing chunky Cabernet richness to what is such a polished wine. Keen buying!
