Vintage 2009
95 points The Real Review
Deep, dark purple/red colour of amazing depth - a classic 2009 colour. Oak dominates the nose at this point: nutty, vanilla, nutmeg and clove-like. A touch of dried banana. Lots of cloves. Great power and intensity in the mouth; rich and fleshy, a voluminous wine with amazing fruit depth and fullness, yet also great elegance and refinement. Excellent vitality and energy in the mouth: a great wine with long-term potential. There is just the slight suggestion of microbial issues hovering over its future, and holding me back from more fulsome praise.
