Vintage 2016

Sweet, seductive style with toast, caramel and vanilla cream oak blending into redcurrant, plum and blackcurrant. Tannin is essentially fine with just a bit of grunt, fruit is substantial without being overdone, and everything presents as a smooth, even glide. Plenty in the tank.

It is wonderfully fruited and immensely appealing on the nose showing Black Doris plum, blackcurrant, thyme, vanilla and toasted almond characters, leading to a succulent palate that is plump and beautifully rounded. It is generous and supple with lovely fruit weight and intensity, finishing long and silky. At its best: now to 2023.
