Good hue and depth; a classy cabernet, obviously chosen first up in the vineyard and then given kid gloves and new French oak in the winery. Supple and long in the mouth, the medium-bodied fruit and tannin balance are faultless, the finish long and complete.

Vintage 2012

Deep red colour with traces of brick-red as well as purple. The dominant aroma is of toasty, smoky oak, with associated vanilla and chocolate nuances. A trace of mint. The wine is full-bodied and rich, smooth-textured as velvet and quite deep. The cabernet identity is secondary to the oak and barrel-matured characters. The tannins are mouth-coating and soft. Full-bodied but not massive. An oak-driven style which needs time to realise its full potential.
