Deep, vivid crimson-purple; immediately fill every corner and crevice of the mouth when first tasted, and doesn't back off on subsequent sips; the flavours are bang slap in the middle of the mainstream for McLaren Vale (at its top end) with blackberry, licorice, dark chocolate and oak intertwined with the aid of a cushion of soft, fine tannins.

Deep purple/red, very bright and fresh colour. Soft chocolate and toasty barrel aromas, smoky, nutty and savoury. The palate is smooth with mellow, powdery tannins. Lots of flesh and softness, density and excellent texture. Very dry finish and very long. Savoury spices, earth and toasty. Not a blockbuster or fruit bomb.
