Already considered an Australian icon, and from a long lineage, this release is unquestionably the finest yet. An emaculate expression of Coonawarra Cabernet, with superb balance - the oak better integrated and dialed-back than ever before. The fruit intensity is whip-smart, truly varietal and regionally authentic; dried-herbs, bay-leaf and a touch of mint, complexed by an earthy-savoury nuance. Poised, structured and serious, there's also a newfound vibrancy and confidence that underpins a brand in its zenith.

The wine spent 24 months in a mix of new and one-year-old oak, predominantly French, and a small portion of American, continuing the pattern of recent vintages. The hue reflects the exceptional vintage, the bouquet and palate with a powerful, concentrated and ripe mix of cassis and redcurrant fruits; the oak and tannin management neatly wraps up a juicy mouthfeel of flavours.
