Emily's Paddock is not only wonderful upon release, this wine will age gracefully over many years in the good cellar. This red blend is mostly Shiraz - with a defining splash of Cabernet Franc. A lot has been made over the years of the “terroir” difference between Jasper Hill Emily’s and Georgia’s, but it’s the Cabernet franc that really differentiates them. Wonderfully fragrant and lifted on the nose.

Medium to full brick-red colour. Sweaty aroma, very harsh drying astringency and quite unpleasant in the mouth. Unbalanced and fruitless. Brett suspected. Metallic aftertaste.

Light, clear crimson-purple; perhaps due to the restrained alcohol, the cabernet franc component plays a more important role than it has done in some prior vintages, introducing aromas of violets, and dried tobacco on the palate; here fine tannins provide the structure for a very stylish wine.
