About this product

Opaque black crimson colour with dark crimson purple tinged hue. Aromas of blackcurrant and mulberry are overlaid by bay leaf with background notes of cedary tobacco and spice. The palate features blackcurrant and mulberry flavours over some cedar, tobacco and spice. Medium weight with an elegant refined mouthfeel but good richness. Dryish finish with fine grained tannins.

Once could see that this combination of Cab Sav and Merlot had had a classic profile. It was past its best and had thrown a lot of sediment.

A little disappointing for a 2012 cellar release. Even after an extensive period to breathe (and for the second glass, a forced aeration), this wine unfortunately failed to live up to the hype and IMHO didn't come close to 93 point rating.
