More substantial than your average sangiovese and showing more mint/peppermint than you normally see out of this region. Neither count is a negative. This is a beefy wine but a good one, boasting a particularly fine tannin structure.

Sangiovese has crossed over to become an addition to the McLaren Vale range. No longer considered an ‘alternative’ variety, for people with ‘alternative’ lifestyles. Cherry cola, dusty oak, bay leaf, aniseed and dried herb. Medium bodied, cherries and red fruits, firm fleshy tannin – feels good – balanced acidity and a plenty of grainy tannin on the finish. Nice wine. Seems regional and varietal.
