A gold medal winning wine which attracted much praise upon release. It was definitely "cellar-worthy" back then. And now it's time for release as it approaches its optimum drinking window. A stylish red with sumptuous, juicy black fruit, forest berries, lively peppery aromatics on a lengthy palate, with excellent drive. Generous palate structure with layers of fruit intensity and persistence. Remarkable value! Treat it with respect - decant before drinking as it may have "thrown a crust".

Medium crimson. Fresh developed cranberry, mulberry aromas with light cigarbox, herb garden notes. Lovely pure gentle cranberry, mulberry cassis fruits, underlying dark chocolate notes, fine animated graphite textures and attractive mid palate viscosity. Finishes grainy and long with plentiful sweet fruit and dried herb cedar notes. Well-balanced and evolved wine. Medium-weighted and minerally. Very much in the idiom of a Coonawarra Claret. Not a blockbuster but delicious to drink.
