About this product

A high quality estate from Pomerol, Chateau Le Gay is noted for its age of vines (on average, 40 years) and decidedly low yields, resulting in wines of richness and concentration, coupled to an aromatic freshness and mostly unadorned feel. The blend is 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, though the land under vine is split evenly. This wine spends between 18 and 20 months in oak barrel for complexity and maturation before bottling. Planted on clay and gravelly soils, the vineyard is just under 11 hectares of land. Around 1200 cases of wine are produced a year under this esteemed label.
